MICHELLE-MARCUS-ROM-AISLE-WALK-SINGAPORE-WEDDING
How much does a wedding cost in Singapore? In 2026, a Singapore wedding can cost anywhere from S$7,500 to S$130,000. That range is so wide because the guest list and the venue decide almost everything else. An intimate ROM with a restaurant lunch for 30 people can come in under S$11,000. A classic 15-table hotel dinner usually lands around S$37,000 to S$55,000. A 25-table celebration at a five-star hotel easily passes S$90,000.

Those are not guesses. We built all three budgets below from 2026 published banquet rates, the official ROM fees and real vendor prices, including our own gown, makeup and photography rates at K Gown. Every bride who walks into our studio eventually asks us some version of “What should I actually budget for?” This guide is our honest answer.

Rings, a honeymoon and your BTO renovation are separate conversations. We left the honeymoon out of every budget and kept rings in, because most couples pay for them during the planning year.

Where the Money Goes: Wedding Costs by Category

For a hotel or restaurant wedding, the banquet is usually more than half of the total. Everything else is a supporting cast. These are the 2026 price ranges we see most often in Singapore.

Category Typical 2026 range (S$)
Banquet, per table (after service charge and GST) 860 to 2,100 (restaurants) · 1,650 to 2,400 (mid-range hotels) · 2,850 to 4,300 (five-star hotels)
ROM Notice of Marriage 42 (at least one Singapore Citizen or PR)
Bridal gown and groom attire 550 to 6,000+
Bridal makeup and hair 450 to 1,200
Actual Day photography 900 to 2,400
Actual Day videography 1,000 to 3,000
Pre-wedding photoshoot 1,800 to 3,300
Décor and flowers 1,500 to 7,000+
Wedding planner or day-of coordinator 2,800 to 10,000
Wedding bands 2,000 to 6,000+
Traditions (Guo Da Li, tea ceremony, helpers’ ang bao) 600 to 1,900

The banquet: why “++” matters more than you think

Hotels in Singapore usually quote banquet packages as “++”. That means a 10% service charge is added first, then 9% GST on top of the new total. Together, they add almost 20% to the price you see on the brochure.

A package listed at S$2,380++ per table really costs about S$2,854 per table. Across 25 tables, that gap is close to S$12,000. Always compare venues using the nett figure, not the headline.

Two more things to ask before you sign: how many tables you must guarantee, and what happens to your price if you go over time, bring your own wine or upgrade the menu. Corkage, overtime and menu upgrades are where banquet bills quietly grow.

ROM and solemnisation fees

The legal part of getting married is the cheapest line in your budget. Filing the Notice of Marriage costs S$42 if at least one of you is a Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident, and S$380 if you are both foreigners. You need to file it at least 21 days before your solemnisation date, and no earlier than six months before.

If you hold your solemnisation outside the ROM building, for example at your banquet venue, a restaurant or a garden, you will need a licensed solemniser. Many couples give their solemniser a token ang bao. Set aside around S$200 to S$500 for this.

Muslim marriages are registered through the Registry of Muslim Marriages (ROMM), which has its own fees and process.

Bridal attire: the line item brides underestimate

This is the category we know best, so let us be specific. Most budgeting guides put “bridal attire” at S$2,000 to S$6,000. The real number depends on two questions: how many looks you need, and whether you rent, customise or buy.

A typical Singapore wedding day can include a cheongsam or kua for the tea ceremony, a gown for the solemnisation, a march-in gown and sometimes a second evening look. Each extra outfit adds rental, alteration and styling time. Count your looks before you compare prices.

BRIDE IN A RED CHEONGSAM FOR HER TEA CEREMONY IN SINGAPORE

Here is how our own 2026 pricing compares, so you have a real benchmark:

Option at K Gown Price Best for
Ready-to-wear gown rental S$550 Brides who find a gown that already fits well
Ready-to-wear rental with basic alteration S$750 Most brides, especially for ROM and Actual Day
Custom gown rental (personalise a K Gown design) S$1,250 nett A made-to-measure fit without full bespoke pricing
Full custom gown rental (from your own inspiration) From S$1,900 Brides with a clear design in mind
Custom gown purchase From S$3,500 Brides who want to keep their gown

Whichever studio you choose, check these four things before you sign. They are where bridal packages most often go over budget:

  • GST: is the price nett, or will 9% be added?
  • Premium racks: does the package cover the whole collection, or only a “basic” tier?
  • Alterations: are they included, or charged per adjustment?
  • Cleaning: professional gown cleaning in Singapore costs around S$120 to S$200. Is it included?

We cover these traps in more detail in our 2026 Singapore Bridal Package Price Guide. If you are still deciding whether to own your gown, read Buy or Rent a Wedding Dress in Singapore.

Photography, videography and makeup

After the banquet, photography is the cost couples most often regret cutting. Actual Day photography usually runs S$900 to S$2,400, and videography adds S$1,000 to S$3,000. A same-day edit video is typically another S$500 to S$2,000.

You do not always need an eight-hour package. A ROM signing or a short tea ceremony may only need one to two hours of coverage. Our wedding photography starts at S$199 for one hour when you rent a gown with us, and S$288 on its own, with every photo returned colour-corrected.

For makeup, bridal makeup and hair typically costs S$450 to S$1,200. Our bridal makeup and hair service is S$450, with entourage styling for mothers and sisters at S$330.

Décor, planner and the “small” costs

Many hotel packages already include basic floral arrangements, so check what is covered before booking a florist. If you want full styling, budget S$3,500 to S$7,000 or more.

A day-of coordinator usually costs S$2,800 to S$4,000, while full planning can reach S$10,000. Then there are the costs that hide in plain sight: wedding favours, invitation cards, a bridal car, a guest shuttle, helpers’ ang bao and the Guo Da Li. Each looks small. Together they often add S$2,000 to S$5,000.

3 Sample Wedding Budgets in Singapore (2026)

These budgets use real 2026 prices. Your numbers will differ, but the structure will look familiar.

Budget A: Intimate ROM with restaurant lunch (about 30 guests)

ROM WEDDING DRESS WITH LONG LACE VEIL FROM K GOWN SINGAPORE

Item Cost (S$)
Notice of Marriage 42
Solemniser token 200 to 500
Restaurant lunch, 3 tables 3,000 to 3,900
Ready-to-Wed ROM Package (gown and suit with alteration, makeup and hair for both, 2 hours of photography) 1,899
Wedding bands 2,000 to 4,000
Bouquet, cake and small extras 300 to 800
Estimated total About 7,500 to 11,000

This is the fastest-growing wedding style we see. Couples skip the banquet, keep the guest list to family and close friends, and spend on the things they will look at for years: the gown, the photos and a beautiful meal. If this sounds like you, our Modern Singapore ROM Guide walks you through a four-month plan.

Budget B: Classic dinner at a mid-range hotel (15 tables, about 150 guests)

BRIDE AND GROOM ON THEIR ACTUAL DAY WEDDING IN SINGAPORE

Item Cost (S$)
Banquet, 15 tables at S$1,650 to S$1,950 nett 24,750 to 29,250
ROM fee and solemniser token 242 to 542
Actual Day Package (Full Day): 8 hours of photography, bridal gown and cheongsam with alteration, 2 groom suits, makeup and hair for the couple and both mothers 4,489
Videography 1,000 to 3,000
Pre-wedding photoshoot 1,800 to 3,300
Décor and flowers 1,500 to 2,500
Traditions (Guo Da Li, tea ceremony, helpers’ ang bao) 600 to 1,900
Wedding bands 2,000 to 6,000
Invitations, favours and transport 900 to 3,600
Estimated total About 37,000 to 55,000

This is the “typical” Singapore wedding. Notice that the banquet alone is more than half of the total. Cutting two tables saves more than switching to a cheaper photographer, and it does not show in your photos.

Budget C: Five-star hotel celebration (25 tables, about 250 guests)

K GOWN BRIDE IN A CLASSIC A-LINE WEDDING GOWN AT THE FULLERTON HOTEL SINGAPORE

Item Cost (S$)
Banquet, 25 tables at S$2,850 to S$3,400 nett 71,250 to 85,000
Wedding planner or day-of coordinator 2,800 to 6,000
Photography, videography and same-day edit 5,000 to 8,000
Bridal attire: custom gown, evening look, cheongsam and groom suits 3,000 to 6,000
Makeup and hair (couple and family) 800 to 2,000
Full décor and floral styling 3,500 to 7,000
Entertainment 1,000 to 5,000
Traditions 600 to 1,900
Wedding bands 3,000 to 6,000
Invitations, favours, transport and contingency 1,500 to 4,000
Estimated total About 92,000 to 130,000

At this level, the details that guests remember are the venue, the food and how you look walking in. A custom gown starts to make sense here. It is designed around your body and your venue, and renting one costs far less than buying a couture gown you will wear once.

Will Ang Bao Cover Your Wedding?

Many Singapore couples plan around “breaking even” on the banquet. It can happen, but do not build your budget on it.

Guests usually decide their ang bao from the venue. A common rule of thumb is to cover the cost of their seat, then round up to an auspicious number. Aggregator estimates for 2026 put a Saturday dinner at roughly S$230 to S$300 per guest at mid-range hotels and S$350 to S$450 at luxury hotels. Lunches and restaurants are lower.

Three things pull the real number down:

  • Couples and families often give one ang bao for two or more people.
  • Younger guests and colleagues may give less than the “seat price”.
  • Ang bao helps with the banquet, not with photography, attire, rings or décor.

A safer approach: plan to pay for everything yourselves, and treat whatever the ang bao covers as a bonus towards your home or honeymoon.

7 Ways to Lower Your Wedding Cost in Singapore (Without It Showing)

  1. Trim the guest list first. Every table you remove saves roughly S$1,000 to S$4,000. Nothing else comes close.
  2. Choose lunch or an off-peak date. Weekday and lunch banquets are usually cheaper, and many hotels run better promotions during the seventh lunar month.
  3. Compare nett, not “++”. Convert every quote to its final price before you shortlist venues.
  4. Count your outfit changes. Two well-chosen looks photograph better than four rushed ones, and cost less.
  5. Rent instead of buying. A beautifully fitted rental gown from S$550 to S$750 looks just as good in photos as one you buy for several thousand dollars.
  6. Bundle gown, styling and photography. A studio that coordinates all three avoids double fees and scheduling gaps. Our Actual Day packages start at S$1,900.
  7. Book photography by the hour. Pay for the coverage your day actually needs, not a fixed eight-hour block.

And one thing we would never cut: the fit of your gown. Guests forget the menu. You will see your dress in every photo for the rest of your life.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is S$10,000 enough for a wedding in Singapore?

Yes, for an intimate ROM. With the S$42 ROM fee, a restaurant lunch for around 30 guests, a bridal package with gown, makeup and photography, and modest wedding bands, many couples finish between S$7,500 and S$11,000. It is not enough for a hotel banquet.

Is S$20,000 too much for a wedding in Singapore?

No. S$20,000 is below what most banquet weddings cost. It can cover a restaurant celebration of around 10 tables, or a very polished intimate wedding with premium photography and a custom gown.

Is S$30,000 enough for a wedding in Singapore?

It can be, if you keep the guest list to around 12 to 15 tables at a restaurant or a value hotel, and choose a bundled attire and photography package. For 15 or more tables at a mid-range hotel, plan for S$37,000 or more.

Is S$100,000 too much for a wedding?

For a five-star hotel with around 25 tables, S$100,000 is a realistic figure rather than an extravagant one. Whether it is “too much” depends on your priorities, including your BTO, renovation and savings goals.

How much does ROM cost in Singapore?

The Notice of Marriage costs S$42 if at least one partner is a Singapore Citizen or PR, and S$380 if both are foreigners. If you marry outside the ROM building, add a token for your licensed solemniser, usually S$200 to S$500.

How much should I budget for my wedding dress in Singapore?

A ready-to-wear gown rental costs from S$550, or S$750 with basic alteration. Custom rental starts at S$1,250, and buying a custom gown starts from about S$3,500. Add more if you need a cheongsam or evening gown for a second look.

Do ang bao cover the cost of a Singapore wedding?

They often cover a large share of the banquet, but rarely the whole wedding. Plan to fund everything yourselves and treat ang bao as a bonus.

Spend Where It Matters

A wedding in Singapore does not have to cost what a wedding fair tells you it costs. Decide your guest list, pick a venue you can afford at the nett price, and then spend on the things you will keep: your photos, your memories and a gown that feels like yours.

If you would like help building the attire part of your budget, book a fitting at K Gown. We will show you exactly what each option costs, with no premium racks and no surprises.
